Porter Corp., a leading manufacturer of “ Open Air Steel Structures”, is looking for a dynamic leader to fully develop and manage an inside sales team.  The successful candidate will be asked to build on the past successes of Porter Corp. product brands by creating a world class customer experience, delivering company sales objectives, while creating roadmaps for future growth objectives.  This role requires a proven history of leading an inside sales team, strong project management skills, delivering exceptional customer service and sales results.  A strong working knowledge of the Architectural and Construction markets is highly preferred.  Daily activities will consist of: monitoring and managing the sales pipeline, communicating with internal and external customers, conflict resolution and the execution of sales orders.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage a team of Inside Sales Representatives that communicate with customers, field sales and dealer partners.

  • Conduct selling efforts as needed (direct business or house account activity) and assisting field teams in closing sales.

  • Develop and implement new processes, improve current processes, and verify current level of training tools, communications best practices, training and methodologies to improve the overall effectiveness of the team.

  • Perform pre-sales project management activities to ensure customer’s expectations are being met.

  • Work closely and coordinate with other departmental managers to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Oversee resource planning, reporting, territories and communications for the assigned team members.

  • Drive inside sales team to use the CRM system/Sales portal to capture and manage all sales activities and manage sales pipeline opportunities.

  • Develop and manage project quoting and proposal process.

  • Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.

  • Direct staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and improve the inside sales function.

  • Mentoring team members to improve their skills and knowledge through day-to-day coaching.  Represent Porter Corp. in a positive and professional manner at all times.

     

    PERFORMANCE METRICS:

 

  • Meet and or exceed financial performance goals as provided by the VP of Sales & Mkt.

  • Improve overall customer satisfaction indexes as measured by annual survey.

    PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 5+ years’ working experience in Inside Sales

  • 5+ years’ working experience in the Architectural & Construction industry

  • 2+ years’ project management experience on construction job site. 

  • 2+ years’ experience managing people (teams)

  • 2+ years’ in managing custom product solutions

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel required

  • Working knowledge of Order Entry software & CRM tools preferred
